500 Kids Come to FBX for Demo
Great Recruiting Tool from Your Friends in Fresno!
From Woodward Park/FBX Track Director, Ryan Garcia:
“I was contacted by a local daycare and they were interested in taking a trip to Woodward Park and having us put on a demo for 524 Kids from 11 different day cares in Fresno. I connected Jeanene from Kids Kare with Brett Riley and Al Roybal with Jump 2 Jump (local bike safety program) so they could set up the show. Then we were off to the races. Al and Nick Valencia were so kind to come to Fresno and provide our youth with a Jump 2 Jump show to promote NBL BMX Racing and bicycle safety. I like to think that yesterday they were just kids and today they are BMXers. This weekend we are having an open house we will see how many new BMXers show up to participate.
You know Al… He was a goof ball on the mic but he talked about the importance of wearing a helmet, safety equipment, check your chain, air in your tires, and your breaks got to work to stop. He was talking Spanglish to the kids and telling funny stories from our years in BMX while giving explanations of the tricks we were doing. Nick was doing 360s, No Footers, Tire Grabs, and even brought out his park skills with some lip tricks. That pretty much sums it up. Got to give a BIG thank you to Al, Nick, Jump to Jump, Brett, Peggy, and FBX for making this happen!”
