Bluegrass Bicycle BMX Wins Day One of Dayton Regional!

Bluegrass Bicycle BMX, based in Louisville, K Y (Derby City BMX) rolled into Dayton, OH for the Midwest Regional on  May 8 & 9 against the cold & high winds and raced to a 1st place team finish in the NBL team competition on Saturday. The Bluegrass riders were ready for the very quick competition from throughout the Midwest and all team riders had the will and the skill to succeed led by perfects from Carley Swan (7 Girl),  Jon Pelkey (12 Novice), Emrick Swan (10 Novice), Eli White (6 Rookie) and near perfects by Jordan Webb (11 Rookie) & Tyler Fitch (12 Rookie). Chad Rasmussen (14 Novice) pedaled to strong 2^nd place performances on both Saturday and Sunday and Brandon Fox (15 Rookie) took home 3rd place hardware on both days. Jason Fox (19-25 Novice), Stevie Alexander (16 Novice), Devan Jackson (11 Novice), Joshua Kincaid (8 Novice) and new team members Dalton Wheeler (14 Rookie), Garrett Thibodaux (12 Rookie) and Cameron & Jim Sims all posted impressive results for the weekend as well. Following a great day of racing the team held a pizza party and victory celebration on Saturday evening.

Sunday again saw cold temps and a solid 3rd place finish produced by the Bluegrass crew.  Despite the chill there was continued hot riding by the team with more perfects from Jon Pelkey, Emrick Swan & Eli White. Bluegrass Bicycle BMX had a very successful weekend racing at the Dayton regional but more importantly we had a great time being with our families and friends and enjoying the camaraderie of the NBL BMX community.

Bluegrass Bicycle BMX races in the “Team NBL” division. The team is made up of riders from the Louisville, Ky area as well as riders from Indiana and Ohio.
