Teams will race as in previous seasons with a few updates to the program. Most importantly, teams will use a new points system for scoring as follows:

Teams will be able to race at every National Championship and Challenge Series race we offer in the 2011 season. Rookies will be able to participate on Teams at the Challenge Championships. Pro Opens will be offered at every National event, and thus, Pros can be placed on a Team Sheet at those events. (Pros will need to register to join the new Pro league, but there is no membership fee. They will only pay their race entry fees at Opens or at the NationsTour events).

The National Championship Series will offer five special weekends for Teams, called Team Spectaculars, where special purses will be awarded to the top four teams.

Category 2 National Races (Team Spectaculars) will award increased team purses to the top four places with the following money per place:

National Team

1 – $900

2 – $600

3 – $300

4 – $200

Team NBL

1 – $500

2 – $275

3 – $150

4 – $75

5th through 8th will be paid the normal $50 at the Team Spectacular races.

The regular Team purse will not slide any longer based on turnout and will be issued regardless of the number of teams as follows:

National Team:

1st-$450, 2nd-$350, 3rd-$150, 4th-$100, 5th-8th-$50

Team NBL:

1st-$250, 2nd-$150, 3rd-$75, 4th-$35, 5th-8th-$30

YEAR-END AWARDS

Teams will pay a registration fee which will cover all team sheets for a year. There will be no need to pay additional team sheet fees in the future.

National Teams:

Annual Registration Fee: $500.00

Team NBL:

Annual Registration Fee: $250.00

In addition, teams will have the opportunity and option to purchase TeamPaks which consist of Championship Level memberships for a reduced amount in groups of 5, 10, 15, or 20. This will allow teams to save money while providing incentives for their riders in the form of paid memberships. When a rider joins a team that owns a TeamPak, that rider will not have to pay membership fees to the NBL during his term with the team. This is an option, and is not a requirement for teams.

For Teams wanting to pay for TeamPaks monthly, they can pay a downpayment and then make 12 monthly payments as follows:

Downpayment: $150

5-Pak:  $144.55

10-Pak:  $306.45

15-Pak: $458.83

20-Pak: $601.67

Additionally, 2011 Team Packets containing rosters and commitment forms will be mailed to all Team Managers by October 1, 2010.
