What is Competition Congress?

Competition Congress is where volunteers from the local tracks go to learn more about the National Bicycle League. You learn how to run NBL races big and small, as well as learn all the ins and outs of this great sport of bicycle motocross racing. It is a place to go and meet other volunteers from tracks that you have not visited. Also at Congress, one vote from each track will choose five people to become members of the National NBL Board of Directors.

There are classes for being a corner marshall, a starter, stager and referee as well as how to run the computer and scoring. You will also find out the latest technology on how to maintain and keep your track in good condition without as much physical work. There is also time set aside to ask questions of the current board. One thing that makes the NBL unique compared to other sanctions is the volunteer has a say in what happens with its organization.

Who can attend?

If you are already a volunteer or just thinking about getting involved you will want to attend this very important event.

What do you get out of it?

Everyone always leaves with something new they have learned. It may be ideas on how to run a BMX program, how to better take care of your track and/or a better understanding of the NBL organization. You will be renewed with ideas on what you can do to make your local program better and fun for all.
