LEAP Series
What is it?
LOCAL EARNED AWARD PROGRAM, AKA L.E.A.P. SERIES
Rookies, Novices, Experts, Girls, and Cruisers will all receive L.E.A.P. points by proficiency. Every NBL track that runs 15 sanctioned local races in one season is eligible. Any rider who races eight local point races at a track will be eligible to receive the following:
Numberplate:
The L.E.A.P. numberplate can be earned just by racing at a local track. The NBL awards L.E.A.P. numberplates to the top 10 Rookies, Novices, and Experts, and the top 5 Girls and Cruisers at each track. L.E.A.P. numberplates are earned by proficiency, not age, and are based on a total points series beginning January 1st each year and ending as each track’s season ends or December 31st each year. Awards and numberplates will be awarded based on the rider’s proficiency at the end of his/her track’s season or December 31st. A rider may earn a L.E.A.P. numberplate from more than one track. However, numberplates can only be used at the local track where it is earned.
Awards:
The L.E.A.P. award can be earned just by racing at a local track. The NBL gives an award to the #1 rider in Cruiser, Girl, Expert, Novice, and Rookie. L.E.A.P. awards are given by proficiency, not age, and are based on a total points series beginning January 1st each year and ending as each track’s season ends or December 31st each year. A rider may earn a L.E.A.P. award from more than one track.
Points:
L.E.A.P. points are listed online at www.nbl.org as follows: The state the track falls under, the proficiency, and under this, the rider’s position, name, age, total points, and number of events competed at for that track. Every race that has been added to the points since the previous update is listed on the Race Audit page online. Please check to see if all of your races are listed before checking your points against your records. It is very important that you do this before filling out a points protest!
